Last month saw some teaser art surface that many thought indicated that Ghost Rider may wind up as a part of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when the show’s fourth season arrives later this year. Well, this past weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con saw the Spirit of Vengeance indeed confirmed for the series.
When the previous promo art appeared, some thought it was more likely to represent the Hellfire character, but now it’s official: Ghost Rider is heading to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Not only that, but Marvel Entertainment has announced Matador’s Gabriel Luna as the Robbie Reyes’ version of Ghost Rider.
Marvel’s Jeph Loeb said, “Season 4 will unquestionably be the series’ biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all beings with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider. When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it’ll change everything.”
Additionally, the following teaser was released ahead of the character’s impending debut:
As far as the comic book Robbie Reyes is concerned, he’s actually the most recent incarnation of Ghost Rider in the funny books, having debuted in 2014. Possessed by the phenomenal power of the Spirit, this young LA mechanic initially uses his new abilities to beat local gangs in street races before eventually channeling his powers for the greater good.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fourth season will debut in the US on September 20th, with a UK return set to follow shortly after.SHARE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW OR ON TWITTER
