KICKBOXER is just one of several Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicles, such as TIMECOP and BLOODSPORT, getting the redo treatment, and now comes word of two names being added to the remake of this 1989 Van Damme “classic.”

The Exchange, the company producing the rejig, has confirmed that ONG BAK’s Tony Jaa and NINJA: SHADOW OF A TEAR’s Scott Adkins have been added to a cast that already had X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST’s Alain Moussi, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY’s Dave Bautista and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER’s George St-Pierre on board.

Plot-wise, the KICKBOXER remake will feature Moussi’s Kurt Sloan travelling to Thailand to avenge his brother’s death at the hands of Bautista’s big, bad, bastardly Tong Po.

KICKBOXER will be directed by TAI CHI ZERO’s Stephen Fung.
