Silver ENnie roleplaying game Achtung! Cthulhu is set to become a movie. The game, which blends World War Two conflict, Nazis and HP Lovecraft’s Cthullhu Mythos to create an action filled horror adventure, is filled with amazing ideas and visuals that could make for some very exciting cinema.

Modiphus have signed script writer Dirk Vandereyken and director Raine McCormack to work on the project. McCormak is the genius behind cutting edge production firm Reel King and has a solid track record of producing great visual media.

A movie is not that much of a sharp departure for games creator Modiphus. The company’s founder, Chris Birch has produced features before as part of the Digital Film Assassins team, who were responsible for the internet-based series Newblood, a show about vampires in London clubland which ran for 30 episodes.

Birch told STARBURST Magazine: “Working with such a vast backstory of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos and the growing universe of Achtung! Cthulhu we have more than enough material for dozens of films. The great thing is we’re going to be able to explore the whole story through the movies, roleplaying games, novels, collectibles, apps, boardgames, and much more that are planned over the next few years.”
