Roulette Hall of Fame

roulette hall fame

Roulette is a game that has been played for centuries, whether that be in land-based casinos or, in most recent decades, online platforms. Where ever there is a game played, there are of course potential winners.

With this in mind, we wanted to dive into the Roulette Hall of Fame, and take a closer look at some of the players that have won big. Follow us as we step back in time to witness some of the luckiest Roulette players make winning history – and perhaps it might spur you on to play Roulette online to be in with a chance of claiming a victory of your very own!

Charles Wells

One evening in 1891, Charles Wells visited the world-famous Monte Carlo Casino Resort, where he enjoyed a few spins of the wheel. It was on this night that Wells ended up playing the game of his life, winning a staggering 23 out of 30 consecutive spins. In fact, he came close to bagging ₣1 million, and allegedly, he was the inspiration for the song ‘The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo’.

Sometime after this game, Wells revisited the casino and unbelievably won another ₣1 million, again, purely down to luck.

Sir Phillip Green

Some would say that certain people seem to ooze luck, which, in this case, for billionaire fashion mogul Sir Phillip Green, might just be the case. During a trip to a London casino in December 2004, Green won a total of £2 million in one visit. However, Lady Luck was certainly on Green’s side when he paid yet another visit to the casino, just before 2004 drew to a close, where he ended up walking out with another £1 million, all from playing Roulette.

Pedro Grendene Bartelle

Whilst playing a game of French Roulette at Hotel Conrad, Punta del Este in Uruguay, Pedro Grendene Bartelle wagered most of his bets on number 32. Eventually, this tactic paid off, turning his $350 into a staggering $3.5 million.

Ashley Revell

You may have heard about Ashley Revell before, as his story is one that you’d think came from a movie script. Before taking a trip to Las Vegas in 2014, Revell decided to sell his house, his BMW and other belongings, adding all profits made to his life savings. When he got to Las Vegas, he staked every last penny on the Roulette table. In total, Revel placed a $135,000 wager on red. To his relief, the ball landed in a red pocketed compartment, doubling his wager.

Chris Boyd

Just like Ashley Ravell, Chris Boyd decided to stake every last penny he had on the Roulette table. Although there was something standing in the way of Boyd placing his $220,000 bet – most casinos have a strict betting limit and refused him to place such as large amount down at once. Luckily for Boyd, the Binion Horseshoe Casino allowed him to place such a large bet. Like Revell, Boyd walked out of that casino after doubling his wager.

Lady Luck certainly was on his side.
