Fox Picking Up MINORITY REPORT TV Show

TV News

We brought word last month that MINORITY REPORT was the next movie to be getting a small screen adaptation. Whilst the concept was at that stage being shopped around, now comes news that 20th Century Fox has put in a put-pilot order. Basically, that means that if they choose not to take the show to pilot then Fox will have to pay a penalty.

Best known for Steven Spielberg’s 2002 movie, that film was based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. In terms of the TV adaptation, the current idea is to have the show set 10 years after the events of the Tom Cruise-starring film. The story will follow one of three Precogs, who have the ability to predict the future, in their attempt to have a normal life after the Precrime Division was shut down after the events of the movie. This Precog will end up teaming with a female detective as they both struggle with their haunted pasts.

GODZILLA’s Max Borenstein is on board to pen the project, and it’s suggested that Spielberg himself may be involved in some form of producing capacity.

As ever, expect to hear more on this as it develops.

Surely there's some really bad joke to throw in there about seeing the future? Sadly my brain seems lost for one, though.
