Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. is due to return to US screens in only two weeks’ time. In timely fashion, Marvel Entertainment has released the official synopsis for the Season 2 premiere. Even more interesting is a particular name who will be making a cameo in the episode.

Titled SHADOWS, the official word on the show’s return reads:

“Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources – but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?”

Whilst the synopsis gives an idea of what to expect, Marvel have also announced that, amongst others, Hayley Atwell will guest star as Peggy Carter. Her exact role is unknown at this stage, although any appearance of Peggy will be a nice reminder of the character ahead of her own show, AGENT CARTER, debuting during AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’s mid-season break. Other additional names confirmed to appear in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s return episode are B.J. Britt as Agent Triplett, Nick Blood as Agent Hunter, Patton Oswalt as Agent Koenig, Adrian Pasdar as Brigadier General Talbot, Lucy Lawless as Izzy Hartley, Wilmer Calderon as Idaho, Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall, Brian Patrick Wade as Carl Creel, Matthew Glave as Roger Browning, Simon Kassianides as Sunil Bakshi, and Raquel Gardner as Carla Talbot.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC on September 23rd, with a UK return date still to be confirmed.
