THE TICK Set for a New Series?

Patrick Warburton, now synonymous with providing the dulcet tones of FAMILY GUY’s Joe Swanson, previously starred in the far-too-brief THE TICK. Now comes word from People.com that the show is being lined up for a return, complete with Warburton starring. The report claims that Amazon, who are now looking to develop their own content, are eying up the show. Series creator Ben Edlund is also in the frame to write and produce the return.

The previous live-action series only managed a nine-episode run between 2001 and 20002, and it was based on the comic book of the same name that was created by Edlund. Before the live-action show, THE TICK was adapted for an animated series, airing on FOX between 1994 and 1996 and gaining itself a cult following.

Treat this all as a rumour until something official is announced, but a return for THE TICK is a good thing in our eyes.
