If you’ve picked up the current issue of Starburst Magazine (issue 404, on sale here), you’d have seen our preview of ARROW’s upcoming Season 3, not to mention interviews with both Colton Haynes and Emily Bett Rickards. One of the things discussed there is how Rickards’ Felicity Smoak is set to have some of her backstory revealed. Already confirmed to appear in Season 3 as Felicity’s mother is N.Y.P.D. BLUE’s Charlotte Ross, but now comes confirmation that we’ll get an appearance from an ex-boyfriend of Oliver’s geeky sidekick.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that GLEE’s Nolan Funk (above) will be playing the part, although we’re not sure whether he’ll feature in the present day or in some flashback moments. What we do know is that he will be a hacker that Felicity met during her days studying at MIT.

Earlier today came word that THE WOLVERINE’s Rila Fukushima has taken over from Devon Aoki on the Katana gig, whilst a whole host of new characters look set to fill the streets of Starling City and Hong Kong when the show returns to The CW on October 8th.
