AMERICAN HORROR STORY is a show that seems to often split opinion. To some effortlessly brilliant, others fatally flawed, the show is certainly one of the most unique TV series that we’ve seen over the last few decades. Its fourth season, AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW, is to premiere later this year, and now FX has released a new poster that shows us a lot of the principal characters for this latest twisted tale.

This time out, the action is set during 1952 in a small hamlet in Florida called Jupiter. We find Jessica Lange playing Elsa Mars, the owner of one of America’s last remaining freak shows, with plenty of dark, creepy, messed-up stuff in store for viewers, as has come to be expected by this point. As well as Lange, this fourth season will also feature Kathy Bates as bearded lady Ethel Darling, Angela Bassett as three-breasted Desiree Dupree, Michael Chiklis plays strongman Wendell Del Toredo, Evan Peters plays Jimmy Darling, Emma Roberts will play Maggie, Sarah Paulson will play Siamese twins Bette and Dot Tatter, and there’s roles for Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, Denis O’Hare, Finn Wittrock, John Carroll Lynch and Patti LaBelle.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW premieres on FX on October 8th, with a UK return for the show to follow shortly after.
