If you’ve read our extensive Season 3 preview of ARROW in Starburst #404 (on sale now, available here), you’ll know that the Emerald Archer’s return to screens is looking like it could be just as fantastic as the amazing Season 2 of the show. There’s a whole host of new faces set to enter Starling City, but now comes word of yet another newcomer.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed TRON: LEGACY and ALIENS VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM’s Matt Ward will be joining The CW’s ARROW as Simon Locroix, aka DC's Komodo. The character is a deadly mercenary who has bow skills to rival those of The Arrow. In terms of his comic book roots, the character is a fairly new addition, having debuted early last year. His story is that he’s a guy who has nothing but ends up working for Oliver Queen’s father before turning to the dark side.

Speaking to EW about the show’s latest addition, executive producer Marc Guggenheim said, “He’s the villain-of-the-week for the second week of the show, but you’ll see that Team Arrow’s pursuit of him is part and parcel of a season-long storyline. You’re going to know what happens to Komodo at the end of the episode, but it will be a little but tied in better with the season-long mythology that villain-of-the-week episodes have done in the past.”

Just how Komodo’s story arc plays out, we’ll have to wait and see.

ARROW returns to the The CW on October 8th, with a UK return to follow later that month.
