After Martin Freeman's little slip-up the other day, the BBC have now confirmed that he'll return as John Watson alongside Benedict Cumberbatch's SHERLOCK for a Christmas 2015 special. But there's more - this will be followed by a series of three new adventures.

Writer Mark Gatiss has stated that the upcoming series four will "take Sherlock and John Watson into deeper and darker water than ever before", while his fellow showrunner Steven Moffat adds "it's far too early to say what's coming, but we're reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John, is the very last thing you'd expect...”
