TV News

Given the recent spate of comic book tales being adapted for TV, now comes word that Frank Miller’s RONIN and Oni Press’ LETTER 44 are both getting the TV treatment. Syfy is going to be developing the projects, with RONIN to be a mini-series and LETTER 44 to get the full series treatment.

The RONIN mini-series is currently in search of a writer at this stage, whilst Jonathan Mostow, director of TERMINATOR 3, will be writing and directing the pilot for LETTER 44.

RONIN was originally published in 1983 and 1984. Telling the story of the titular legendary warrior, the story focuses on a dishonoured 13th century samurai who is left without a master. Reborn into 21st century New York City, the samurai has a chance to avenge his master’s death and regain his honour by defeating the reincarnated version of his master’s killer, the ancient demon known as Agat.

Created by Charles Soule and Alberto Alburquerque, LETTER 44 is a series that centres on aliens. When Stephen Blades is newly elected as President, he opens a letter addressed to him by his predecessor. In said letter, it’s revealed that NASA actually discovered an alien construction project seven years ago. Dun, dun, dun, dun.

Expect to hear more on these projects as it becomes available.
