Having appeared in several episodes of Season 1 of The CW’s ARROW, The Huntress will be returning in an upcoming episode of the Emerald Archer-centric show.

Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that Jessica De Gouw will be returning in the role. “We consider Jessica a member of the ARROW family,” he said, “and we’re looking forward to having her back for an episode everyone will be talking about after.”

What’s even more interesting about the return of Helena Bertinelli, aka The Huntress, is that the episode in question is titled BIRDS OF PREY. Of course, in the DC comic book world, the Huntress is often part of the Birds of Prey team with Black Canary and Barbara Gordon.

It’s been revealed that The Huntress will return to Starling City in order to take out the Arrow, but will come up against Caity Lotz’s Canary. Could we see some sort of team form between the pair? Could we even get a Barbara Gordon appearance?

BIRDS OF PREY will air in the US on 26th March. For UK viewers, Arrow returns to Sky 1 next month.

I agree with Sara being a lot more interesting; that the writers seem unsure what to do with Laurel is the only aspect of the show I think could use improvement. I'd assumed right from the start that she would become Black Canary at some point so it's something I'm always expecting.

They certainly seem to be making a habit of playing with the assumptions of those familiar with comics lore. Tommy was initially assumed destined to become the dark archer Merlyn and Fyers' giant henchman with the split mask was assumed to be Deathstroke, both of which were subsequently proved wrong.

Could well be, although I'm not entirely sure Laurel's gonna don the Canary outfit at any point. Sara's a far more interesting character right now but they can do the switch easily enough.

Perhaps this will be where we'll get some development into the likelihood of Laurel eventually becoming Black Canary.
