TV News: Channel 5 Kills Off THE WALKING DEAD

Written by Christian Jones Friday, 24 January 2014

TV News

It’s bad news for fans of THE WALKING DEAD whom are without satellite or cable as Channel 5 has dropped the hit show. Channel 5 confirmed yesterday that they had no plans to show season 4, which is currently airing on Fox.

In the last month the broadcaster has also canned ONCE UPON A TIME after showing two seasons, and it confirmed that it would not be airing the fifth season of the hit modern western JUSTIFIED.

What was once a genre friendly channel is proving to be anything but with its preference for showing such mindless trash as BIG BROTHER and banal programmes about extreme fishing, or driving in snow. So if you’re enjoying FALLING SKIES at the moment then be prepared for disappointment as that will surely be dropped sooner or later.

Other than DOCTOR WHO, genre TV, particularly imported shows, doesn’t stand a chance on network TV these days.

Could this possibly be because all us genre fans use alternative* methods to watch our favourite shows so we don't have to wait weeks/months to see them.

*the term "alternative" in no way implies downloading or streaming and should not be taken as a euphemism for illegality of any kind.
