Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana have finally signed on the dotted line to ensure that they’ll return to Pandora for the next three instalments of the AVATAR franchise. The marathon shooting schedule, which will see all three films being shot back-to-back-to-back, meant that negotiations for the actors’ return took longer than usual.

Director James Cameron has invited screenwriters Josh Friedman (WAR OF THE WORLDS), Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (RISE OF THE PLANETS OF THE APES), and Shane Salerno (SAVAGES) to collaborate with him on the screenplays for AVATAR 2, AVATAR 3 and AVATAR 4, which are due in cinemas December 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively.
