TV News

Whilst Sunday night saw the mid-season finale of AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD, the viewing figures are starting to come in.

The TOO FAR GONE episode delivered 12.1 million viewers, which is even more impressive given that the airing was up against the massively popular NFL show, broadcast sweeps, and various high-profile special events. Amongst the 12.1 million, 7.7 million were adults aged 18-49, which is the show’s key audience. It’s also worth noting that this season has also posted gains of 29% against the first half of Season 3.

All of this means that THE WALKING DEAD continues to be the highest rated show on all of TV among the 18-49 demographic, and it is also the highest rated show in the history of cable TV. The first half of Season 4 has delivered an average of 13 million viewers per episode.

AMC’s President, Charlie Collier, said, “We couldn’t be happier that audiences are continuing to respond in ever-large numbers to the outstanding work of this amazingly talented team. We’re only at the mid-point of this fourth season, but I know I speak for the entire cast and crew in Atlanta when I say thank you to the fans for joining in our passion for these characters and their journey.”

If you’ve seen the mid-season finale of Season 4, I’m sure you’ll agree it was fantastic. If not, be sure to keep an eye out for our relatively spoiler free review coming soon.
