The spin-off series to AMC’s hit programme The Walking Dead is still in the planning stages. Executive producer Gale Ann Hurd admitted to MTV that a concept for the new series has yet to be finalised: "That's still being batted around," she stated. "It's very early in the process."

Hurd also explained why a concept less project was announced so readily: "We realised it was likely to leak the minute we started initial discussions," she said. "And that's why the announcement was made."

The Walking Dead's fourth season will premiere on AMC on October 13 and will launch in the UK on FOX on October 18. The Wire’s Lawrence Gilliard Jr and Twilight’s Christian Serratos will be adding new blood to the show’s cast.
