So the curtain has fallen on STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, but waiting in the wings is Disney/ Lucasfilm’s next animated TV venture STAR WARS REBELS. Regular readers will have already seen the concept art that appeared a short time ago, but the leap from concept art to fully fledged series has taken a positive step forward with the announcement that David Oyelowo (RED TAILS), Freddie Prinze Jr (SCOOBY DOO), Vanessa Marshall (JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX), Taylor Gray (BUCKET AND SKINNER'S EPIC ADVENTURES), and Steven Jay Blum (TRANSFORMERS PRIME) are in negotiations to play the lead voices in the series.

As of yet there isn’t any news on who will be lending their vocals to what character but further announcements are expected shortly.

STAR WARS REBELS will focus on the period between EPISODES III and IV, “a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.”

STAR WARS REBELS will debut Fall 2014.
