TV News

Earlier in the week, it was reported that the role of Barry Allen, aka The Flash, in The CW’s ARROW was down to three names – James Mackay, Matt Barr and Grant Gustin. We’re now getting word that GLEE’s Gustin has been chosen to play DC’s famous speedster in the upcoming season of the show.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gustin said, “I’m unbelievably excited. I’ve been a lifelong fan of DC Comics, so I can’t be more honoured and can’t wait to get started.”

Barry Allen is set to debut in the eighth episode of the season, then making appearances in the ninth and twentieth episodes. The current plan is for the twentieth episode to be used as a launching pad for a solo Flash TV series on the network.

Allen will start off as a mere forensic scientist, before getting his superpowers at a later date.

Season 2 of ARROW premieres in the US on Wednesday, 9th October, with a UK airing date expect to follow shortly after.
