Attendees at the annual San Diego Comic Con were treated over the weekend to an exclusive cast/crew Doctor Who panel featuring outgoing Time Lord Matt Smith, his companion Jenna Coleman (Clara) and current show runner Steven Moffat along with producer Marcus Wilson, Mark Gatiss (writer/actor) and David Bradley (who plays William Hartnell in the upcoming drama documenting the creation of Doctor Who in 1963). The audience were shown a trailer from the Adventure in Space and Time drama but also a never-before-seen trailer from the 50th Anniversary episode itself. Disgruntled British fans can expect to see both trailers online shortly but as a teaser for the episode itself the BBC have released some new publicity photographs of the show (now expected to run for longer than the anticipated sixty minutes) which confirm that, as well as the already-revealed return of 1970s aliens The Zygons, some other and rather more familiar creatures will be rampaging through the episode in their own inimitable style…

The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special will be broadcast on BBC1 and BBC America on 23rd November 2013
