The Wrap is confirming that the second season of ARROW will finally see the appearance of Black Canary. Ever since the show debuted, fans have been asking whether we’ll get to see Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance take on the role of her comic book alter-ego, Black Canary. Yes, we’ll see the character, but no, it won’t be Laurel that behind her.

Rather than Laurel Lance as Black Canary, the show is instead going to go the Golden Age route and introduce Dinah Drake to take on the role. Not only that, the character has already been cast in the form of THE PACT’s Caity Lotz.

Drake will also serve as a love-interest for Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen. Given the show’s strict rules on no super powers, it’ll be interesting to see if Black Canary is given her trademark high-pitched scream.

Season 2 of ARROW is set to air on 9th October, with the first season getting a Blu-ray/DVD release on 7th September. Be sure to check back here for reviews on both.
