The finale to this year’s mini-season of Doctor Who, entitled ‘The Name of the Doctor’, is set to air at around 7pm on Saturday 18th May. But immediately following the screening of this weekend’s penultimate instalment, ‘Nightmare in Silver’ (the return of the Cybermen) viewers will be able to access a brand new ‘prequel’ to the finale. Entitled ‘She Said, He Said’ the sequence, the longest of its type yet produced for the show, is written by show runner Steven Moffat, stars Matt Smith as the Doctor and Jenna-Louise Coleman as Clara and is said to explore “how little the Doctor and Clara know about each other.” Whilst it might have been a good idea for this year’s actual episodes to address this issue rather than concentrating on occasionally tantalising the audience with its half-hearted ‘who is Clara?’ through line, the prequel should at least set the scene for what is likely to be a make-or-break season finale, an episode which will feature a very special guest appearance from one very iconic character from the series’ long history.

Who could it be???

‘She Said, he Said’ will be available at www.bbc.co.uk/doctor who from 7.45pm on 11th May.
