TV News

Karl Urban has landed the lead role in HUMAN, a new futuristic sci-fi pilot from the hardest working man in Hollywood, J.J. Abrams, and FRINGE co-creator J.H. Wyman.

The show is set in a time when it’s commonplace for police offercs to work alongside androids – a goofy premise indeed, but in Abrams & Wyman we trust. Urban will play troubled cop John Kennex, who’s partnered with Dorian, a robot played by Michael Ealy (UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING). Dorian will help Kennex reclaim his faith in himself and humanity after surviving an event which saw nine fellow officers killed in the line of duty.

Also on board for the potential new series are Lili Taylor (THE HAUNTING) as a Police Captain, Mackenzie Crook (PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN), Minka Kelly (CHARLIE’S ANGELS) and Michael Irby (FAST 5).

After DREDD unfairly died a death at the box office Urban could use some cheering up, so we're keeping our fingers crossed this gets picked up. Stay tuned for more info as we get it...
