Following on from the story we ran last month (read it HERE if you missed it) that detailed director Martin Campbell and Joe Pakaski’s plans to resurrect the cult British sci-fi show BLAKE’S 7 for new rights owners Georgeville Television, comes news that they’ve already managed to attract a network willing to develop and air their project.
Step forward Syfy, who have struck a deal with the team on a ‘script-to-series’ basis; if the material impresses (and given the fact talks have gone this far we can take it the network are very encouraged indeed), we could see the show skip the pilot process entirely and go straight to a 13-episode commitment.
That's all the details there are at present, though expect more information to drop over the coming weeks. Looks like there’s a very strong chance we’ll be seeing Blake and co. onscreen again as early as next year…
...whether we’re personally horrified by a US version or not! (Opinion continues to be split here at Starburst HQ; where do you fall?)
