The Leftovers

Fresh from infuriating and delighting audiences with PROMETHEUS, Damon Lindelof will next return to the small screen where he made his name, but this time on the proper adult material channel that is HBO.

THE LEFTOVERS is a 2011 novel by Tom Perrotta which follows what happens to some people who find themselves left behind when everyone else is transported to Heaven during the Rapture (aka Armageddon). Perrotta is also the author of the original source material novels for the films ELECTION and LITTLE CHILDREN.

Lindelof will co-write the pilot episode with Perrotta and will serve as showrunner at HBO if the series gets picked up through his deal with Warner Bros. Ensemble cast left marooned in mysterious circumstances? Yep this doesn’t sound familiar at all!
