TV News

A remake of BARBARELLA has been on the cards for many years (one time coming close with Drew Barrymore in the lead and Robert Rodriguez at the helm), but today it’s finally up and running again, and in the hands of the awesome Nicholas Winding Refn (DRIVE) to boot!

The project is this time being primed for a TV series courtesy of Gaumont International Television and Martha De Laurentiis, the folks behind the upcoming HANNIBAL show on NBC (which we’re less enthused by). Refn is on board to produce and direct reports Deadline, though we suspect the increasingly in-demand filmmaker will probably just be calling the shots on the pilot rather than every ep.

That’s it for details, so let the casting speculation begin! (And no, Refn – we don’t want to see Gosling in a space-bra.)

This has potential but I'm not sure who could match up to Jane Fonda looking her lovelier!
