Movie News: Portia De Rossi Is MOCKINGBIRD LANE's Lily Munster + First Pics Hit!

With the role initially thought to be going to TRUE BLOOD's Mariana Klaveno, there's been a last minute casting switcheroo on MOCKINGBIRD LANE, with the wonderful Portia de Rossi stepping in to the role of Lily Munster. Klaveno's contract with another show prevented her from being able to star, even though that is currently only at the pilot stage and might not even be picked up. She must be gutted! Still, Klaveno's loss is our gain, as any fan of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT will attest Rossi is a great actress with top comedy chops.

The NBC show is being overseen by DEAD LIKE ME creator Bryan Fuller, and the premiere episode will be directed by Bryan Singer. Jerry O'Connell stars as Herman Munster, with SPY KIDS 4's Mason Cook as Eddie. Here's the very first pics from the series featuring Eddie Izzard as Grandpa and Charity Wakefield as Marilyn...

MOCKINGBIRD LANE debuts early next year.
