Hot on the heels of his casting as a secret new villain in Marvel Studios’ upcoming THOR sequel, former Bond antagonist Mads Mikkelson has snagged yet another lucrative bad guy role in the form of Dr. Hannibal Lecter himself.
As previously reported (and griped about ad nauseam), HANNIBAL will chronicle the pre-SILENCE OF THE LAMBS years of everybody’s favourite smart-arse cannibal and will debut later this year on NBC. Hugh Dancy was recently cast as Will Graham, who enlists Lecter to help the police track down other serial killers, unaware of his true nature. Deja vu, anyone?
The series is developed by Byan Fuller of DEAD LIKE ME FAME, who is also responsible for the MUNSTERS re-imagining, MOCKINGBIRD LANE, which had some casting news of its own earlier today (read that HERE if you missed it/give a hoot).
HANNIBAL will face competition from another series in development mining Thomas Harris’ universe, CLARICE on Lifetime.
