Acclaimed British actor David Morrissey (BLACKPOOL; DOCTOR WHO) has won the coveted role of uber-villain The Governor in season 3 of AMC’s hit show...

For anyone who hasn’t read the comics you’ll need to check out Starburst issue 374 (available HERE) for our feature on our most-anticipated TWD storylines to find out why this is so news worthy, or just trust us when we tell you - if you thought things have been a little grim for Rick and the gang so far, you’ve not seen anything yet.

But while the champagne corks pop over at casa Morrissey, spare a thought for poor ol’ Tom Savini, who has been actively campaigning for the role for years. "Everytime I see the graphic novel", said the FX legend recently "and I see a picture of The Governor, who looks just like me, I send Greg [Nicotero] a picture. I just won't give up!”. Sorry Tom. At least you don't have to mack on your own undead daughter anytime soon.
