Whilst anticipation is extremely huge for Game of Thrones’ upcoming Season 7, it could well be that we’ll have to wait until 2019 until the eighth and final season.

When asked by EW whether Season 8 would arrive in 2018 or 2019, HBO’s Casey Bloys explained, “Yeah, they have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We’ll have a better sense of that once they [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] get further into the writing.”

Of course, that doesn’t give any solid answer, but it does show that there is at least a chance that the final season of Game of Thrones may not hit the small screen until 2019 – meaning a potential 2-year wait between Seasons 7 and 8.

As for that seventh season, that’s set for a July 16th premiere.
