While genre fans are debating which of Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive heroes are their favourite out of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist – although, sadly most don’t seem too keen on poor Danny Rand – the Guardian Devil is getting ready for his third season once the Defenders team have fought the good fight later this year.

Speaking on the Film and Telly Stuff podcast, star Charlie Cox has revealed that Daredevil’s Season 3 will begin shooting towards the end of this year. On the third season, Cox briefly said, “I do that later in the year. We’ll go back and do that.”

We’d previously been told by Netflix that a third season of Daredevil was happening, but it remained to be seen when the would move forward. Well, with a production that starts later this year, we’d say it’s reasonable to expect Season 3 to hit the on-demand streaming service towards the end of next year or potentially even early next year at a push.

To date, Marvel and Netflix have debuted their new shows/seasons twice a year, with one arriving round about March or April time, then another to follow round November time. Very little is known about the third season of Daredevil, although Cox has said several times how he wants to see one of Hornhead’s greatest villains, Bullseye, appear in the new season.

Showing no signs of letting up any time soon, Marvel and Netflix will bring their four heroes together for The Defenders at a to-be-confirmed date later this year, and then there’s second seasons on the way for the Krysten Ritter-starring Jessica Jones, the Mike Colter-headlined Luke Cage, and the Finn Jones-fronted Iron Fist. In addition to those, Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle will be back in The Punisher, which is currently shooting.
