Has MARVEL'S CLOAK AND DAGGER Found its Two Headliners?

TV News

With Marvel’s live-action television presence ever-expanding, one new show that’s on the horizon is a Cloak and Dagger series. And now, there’s some rumours out there that the show has actually found its titular twosome.

Treat this as purely speculation at this point, but MCU Exchange is reporting that Heroes’ Noah Gray-Cabey and Jessie’s Debby Ryan have been cast as Tyrone Johnson/Cloak and Tandy Bowen/Dagger, respectively. This news apparently comes from a source close to the upcoming series. Giving a little more mild substance to the story is the fact that Noah Gray-Cabey was recently followed on Twitter by showrunner Joe Pokaski, and Debby Ryan has recently started following the official Twitter page for the characters. Ah, what a technologically marvelous world we all live in, right…?

Currently set for a Winter 2018 premiere on the Freeform network, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger has already been confirmed for a full series rather than having to go the usual “pilot” route, and it will also reportedly be set in the backdrop of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The early synopsis for the show reads:

The series will focus on Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, the eponymous Cloak and Dagger, as they learn to use their newly-acquired super powers while also falling in love with each other. Cloak is capable of teleportation through the “dimension of darkness” but can also leave foes stranded in the other world as well. Dagger has the ability to create light daggers with her mind, which she can control as well. Her daggers are capable of both draining life from their targets, or healing them.

As mentioned, treat this casting news as purely rumour for now, but expect to hear more on Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger as it develops. Given that production on the show is set to start next month, it makes sense that we should start to get some official casting news sooner rather than later…
