One of the most enjoyable movies of recent years was Taika Waititi’s faux vampire documentary, What We Do in the Shadows. We already know that a werewolf-based sequel is currently in development, but now comes word that a spin-off TV show is happening as well.

To be titled Paranormal Event Response Unit, this series will focus on the two cops who are easily duped when they visit the bloody vampire household in the original movie. Mike Minogue and Karen O’Leary will be reprising their police officer roles from the film.

Waititi and Jemaine Clement are putting the show together, with the plan to develop six 30-minute episodes that will initially air on New Zealand’s TVNZ 2 channel.
