Uncertain Future for SCREAM: THE TV SERIES

With Season 2 of MTV’s Scream series having come to a close, viewers were arguably left with more questions than answers once the season finale concluded. Well, it looks as if the future of the series is now up in the air.

MTV has yet to renew Scream for a third season, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg on this story. What we will be getting is a 2-hour Halloween special arriving in October that will serve to answer any lingering questions that Season 2 left its audience with. Of course, if these questions are to be answered in a one-off special, then that further throws up doubt over a third season. After all, if everything is resolved in a 2-hour special, then is there realistically any need for another season of the show?

Additionally, however, there has been some talk that Netflix may actually pick up a third season of Scream should MTV indeed choose to drop the series. Netflix, of course, has been airing the existing two seasons of the show.

Either way, it looks as if there’s certainly plenty of questions over the future of Scream: The TV Series. All that we know for now is that a 2-hour special episode will clean up the mess left behind by the Season 2 finale. After that, much like in every third wheel of a horror trilogy, all bets are off.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
