Get ready to add Let the Right One In to the list of horror properties being adapted for the small screen…

Variety is reporting that TNT has ordered a pilot for a series based around John Ajvide Lindqvist’s Let the Right One In novel, which itself was turned into a movie in 2008, which in turn was then remade as Let Me In in 2010. This adaptation will be developed by Teen Wolf and Criminal Minds’ Jeff Davis.

The basic premise of Let the Right One In and its movie adaptations centres on a troubled young boy who finds a best friend in the unlikely form of a young female vampire. This TV adaptation ties in well with TNT’s recent move towards a horror slant as the network is working on Monsters of God, Claws, Civil, and an M. Night Shyamalan-developed new Tales From the Crypt.

On this news, TNT’s Sarah Aubrey said, “Let the Right One In combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale. This novel is a watershed of rich storytelling, making it an abundant source from which Jeff, Marty, Becky and Simon will bring to life in this all-new adaptation.”

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
