Now that Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones has been confirmed to be headlining Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive Iron Fist, the series has moved to bring in its first additional cast member.

As officially announced by Marvel and Netflix, Marvel’s Iron Fist has cast Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing. Henwick, who is also a Game of Thrones alumni, will play a comic book character who actually debuted way back in 1974’s Marvel Premiere #19. Wing is a samurai who was raised in Japan before move to New York City and eventually teaming up with Misty Knight in a way similar to how Iron Fist often teams with Luke Cage. Misty has already been revealed to appear in Marvel’s Luke Cage, where she’ll be played by Simone Missick, so it could well be that we’ll see these two BFFs work together on the small screen at some point in the future.

On this news, executive producer and showrunner Scott Buck said, “I’m very excited to have Jessica as our Colleen Wing. She’s shown us that she can bring both a sense of quiet strength as well as an engaging vulnerability to the character.”

Fellow executive producer and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb added, “Jessica brings a youthful vitality mixed with a strong sense of authority crucial to the character. And as anyone who’s seen her in Game of Thrones can attest, she can throw down with the best of them, making her the perfect Colleen Wing.”

The official word on Marvel’s Iron Fist reads:

Marvel’s Iron First, the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe series coming soon only to Netflix, follows Danny Rand, who returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Marvel’s Iron Fist will debut on Netflix in the second half of next year. Before that, the Mike Colter-starring Marvel’s Luke Cage will arrive on September 30th and then we’ll get Season 2 of Marvel’s Jessica Jones in the first half of 2017.
