There is No CAPTAIN BRITAIN TV Show... Yet

Written by Andrew Marshall Tuesday, 29 March 2016

TV News

More details have emerged about that possible Captain Britain TV show we reported on a couple of days ago. As we speculated, the show is not actually a done deal and the poster art was created as part of a future pitch to Marvel.

Via a series of Tweets, producer Chris Leek stated:

“Ladies & Gentlemen, I’m here to confirm that I and my co-producer Eleni Larchanidou are working on a highlight reel for a TV series based on the Marvel Comics character Captain Britain for 2017. Right now we are in very early stages of development for this idea and working on things like the budget for this reel to take to Marvel for 2017 with hopes of them helping us with the series. Thank you so much for your interest in Captain Britain and expect more news later this year and early in 2017. Thanks so much also to Ciara McAvoy for her help with this series project too.”

So, while the show is yet to be even greenlit, let alone begin production, the widespread positive reaction to its potential means that there is at least some audience ready and waiting should it ever become a reality.

Here’s hoping...

I would love to see this series. BUT, and it's a big brawny red, white and blue, BUT - I'd like to see him the way he was originally written by Alan Moore and drawn by Alan Davis - heroic, strong, kindly and, as Jeeves would put it, not overburdened with brains...

Those stories featuring, Saturnyne, Psylocke, Megan, Mad Jim Jaspers and Gatecrasher's Technet were gold dust. Please don't use those dull cookie cutter team adventures from Excalibur!!!

OK - info dumped... 'Nuff Said...
