Ian McShane has always been one to not give much of a toss what anybody thinks, and it seems as if the actor has now set the cat amongst the proverbial online pigeons by giving away some Game of Thrones spoilers. It goes without saying, but read on at your peril. You’ve been warned…

SPOILERS

The former Lovejoy has recently gone on record to reveal that he’ll be playing a priest when Game of Thrones returns next month. Not only that, his character will play a pivotal role in the resurrection of an established character who was believed to be dead. Of course, the first instinct of many is to jump on this as a confirmation that Jon Snow will indeed be back, although it could also be that we see the return of the Hound.

Now whilst McShane dropping this information on the world caused rage amongst some longtime Thrones fans, the actor’s response to all of this is causing just as many headlines. Speaking to The Telegraph, McShane bluntly said, “You say the slightest thing and the Internet goes ape. I was accused of giving the plot away, but I just think get a fucking life. It’s only tits and dragons.”

Additionally, the Deadwood star also revealed that his appearance is a one-and-done affair, revealing, “I wasn’t sure whether I could commit, but then they said it would only be for one episode, so I said, ‘So that means I must die at the end of it. Great, I’m in.’”

From what we’ve heard about McShane’s character, it seems as if he could be some take on Elder Brother, someone who plays a pivotal part in bringing the Hound back from the brink of death in A Feast for Crows.

We’ll have to wait and see as to how all of this plays out on the small screen, although we don’t have to wait too long for Game of Thrones returns on April 24th.
