Remember when Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive Iron Fist was on, then off, and is now totally, totally back on again? Well whilst we’re all anxiously awaiting to find out exactly who will be playing the titular Danny Rand, it looks as if Marvel have actually already found their Iron Fist.

Mike Colter, who debuted as Luke Cage in Marvel’s Jessica Jones and who will be seen later this year in his own series, has revealed this news. Speaking to Collider, Colter confirmed that an actor has indeed been cast as Danny Rand/Iron Fist and is currently “in a basement somewhere.”

No further details are known bar the brief reveal from Colter, but this could well be an indication that Rand could be making an appearance in Marvel’s Luke Cage later this year. After all, Power Man and Iron Fist are synonymous with each other in the comic book world, having worked together for decades now.

In terms of names up for the part of Iron Fist, the only really solid rumour came about towards the end of last year. At that point, it was believed that Ryan Phillippe was under consideration for the gig. No news on whether that's still the case, though.

Following Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil hitting Netflix on March 18th, Marvel’s Luke Cage will follow later in the year, with Marvel’s Iron Fist and Season 2 of Marvel’s Jessica Jones set for next year. Eventually, the four titular heroes will all come together for a Defenders miniseries.
