Does it get any better a match than Kevin Smith and the Scarlet Speedster?

At this past weekend’s TCA event, The CW revealed that Smith will be helming an upcoming episode of The Flash… which sounds all kinds of cool to us. Good ol’ Kev Smith, best known for directing the likes of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma, is a ‘loud and proud’ comic book fanboy and regularly references and pulls inspiration from the funny books in his work. Added to that, Smith has also dabbled with the comic book world directly, having written tales for names such as Daredevil, Spider-Man, Batman, and Green Arrow.

There’s no details at this stage on what the Kevin Smith-directed episode will feature, although we do know that outing will air in May.

The Flash returns to US screens next week, with a UK return to follow the week after.
