TV News: DEXTER To Kill For Another Two Seasons

TV News

Here's some bittersweet news for fans of everybody's favourite Miami-based serial killer Dexter Morgan, with the announcement that star Michael C. Hall has signed a deal to reprise the role for a further two seasons... but it's likely that that'll be our lot.

To be honest, though we're huge fans of the show here, it's possible eight seasons might be pushing it somewhat. We're already seeing signs of the show repeating itself, with the writers understandably finding it increasingly more difficult to put a fresh spin on the season's main arc. Also, how has he not been caught yet?! But that there niggle might ultimately be explored yet with this newly announced end point.

With five fabulous seasons already under their belts, and a sixth nicely underway (how insane was the Four Horseman scene!) let's hope the creators have enough up their sleeves to sustain a further two seasons. It would be tragic if they were to drop the ball so late in the game.

Hmmm. Still waiting for season six in the UK so I'm a bit worried by reports that it's slipping. But the cast are so good I really can't complain about the prospect of a couple more years. Would be a shame if the quality dropped too much now though...I'd like to see Dexter face the Trinity Killer again in the final season and maybe meet his match at last?

I'm a little worried that there is going to be at least two more seasons. Up until the current season I would have been happy to hear of this news. I think this season has no direction at all. I can live with a slow start, but it's over half way through now and not in full swing yet. Also Dexter is getting sloppy. Leaving his knives and forensic kit in the car while it's repaired? Please! Sloppy plotting.

Terrific news; just about the best show on the box and it can run and run as far as I'm concerned.

i'd be far more excited if the news was that next season was the last
