Of the Netflix-exclusive Marvel shows, there’s one particular thing missing: Danny Rand.

Charlie Cox has recently headlined the stunning DAREDEVIL, Krysten Ritter will be headlining A.K.A. JESSICA JONES later this year, Mike Colter will make his debut in Ritter’s show before headlining LUKE CAGE next year, but Marvel’s IRON FIST show has yet to find its lead role at this point in time. Well it looks like Ryan Phillippe could very well be in the running to play Danny Rand, aka Iron First.

Speaking to Howard Stern, the actor revealed, “Marvel is interested in talking about a Netflix series, possibly. The Daredevil series is great.”

Many fans jumped on this, believing that Phillippe was to play master martial artist Rand in the Marvel world. For those getting ahead of themselves, the actor took to Twitter to clarify his comments, stating, “I have no real Marvel news other than an upcoming meeting. Sorry to disappoint fans thought there was more to it. There is no story there.”

So Ryan Phillippe will be speaking to Marvel about a role in one of their upcoming Netflix-exclusive shows. That’s all we know for now. Could it be that the role in question would be the lead in IRON FIST? He’d certainly be an interesting choice for the gig.

After initially making waves in the likes of I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER and CRUEL INTENTIONS, more recent years have seen Phillippe appear in efforts like MACGRUBER, THE LINCOLN LAWYER and DAMAGES.

As ever, expect more on this as and when it develops.
