Karen Lam’s web series MYTHOS is available to watch online in its entirety. Inspired by the background mythology of her fantastic supernatural vengeance horror EVANGELINE and a sort-of sequel to her 2012 short film THE STOLEN, MYTHOS is a collection of half a dozen dark fairy tales narrated by a teenage girl in a mental hospital. The girl, Essie, was taken by the faeries many years previously and then later returned, landing her in the asylum where she tells stories to anyone who’ll listen of creatures – both supernatural and human – that lurk hidden in the shadows.

Referred to as “experimental horror,” the shorts are twisted and ethereal in nature, blending dreamlike imagery with voiceover narrative to create a surreal experience that runs a disjointed but linked plot through each part as Essie purges the darkness from her mind in an effort to repair her fragmented sanity.
