During the opening of Brisbane’s Between Two Worlds exhibition, TWIN PEAKS co-creator David Lynch admitted that there were “complications” regarding the show’s return.

"I'm not sure at this point if it's happening," Lynch revealed.

Lynch also appeared on ABC News show The Mix where he said, "I haven't returned yet and we're still working on the contract, but I love the world of TWIN PEAKS and I love those characters. And I think it will be very special to go back into that world."

TWIN PEAKS first aired in the United States on ABC in 1990, and it was a ratings winner for BBC2. Even though it was cancelled after its second season, the series has gained both iconic and cult status thanks to its surreal mix of characters and its knowing send up of American daytime soap operas. Starring Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, investigating the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), TWIN PEAKS also featured demonic possession, a prophetic talking log, a backwards speaking dwarf, a pre X-FILES David Duchovny as a transvestite DEA agent, and many a damn fine cup of coffee.

The return of TWIN PEAKS was first announced last October and it would be most unfortunate not to be able to visit it again twenty five years later.
