Character Breakdowns for ARROW/FLASH Spin-Off Show

Last month saw news break that The CW were developing a spin-off show from the shared universe ARROW and THE FLASH. As well as some familiar faces, it was also revealed at that point that this new show would introduce some DC characters who have never been see in live-action yet. TVLine now has word on the character breakdowns for these characters, which certainly teases some familiar comic book names.

First up is a character being referred to as “The Traveller” and described as: “A Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbours many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.”

One of the first DC characters who comes to mind based on the above description is Booster Gold, although Eric Martsolf appeared as that character back in SMALLVILLE and so this affectively rules out an appearance for Booster Gold here. With Booster out of the picture, the other likely candidate is Rip Hunter, the time-travelling hero.

The next character is being referred to as “Female Warrior”, with the description reading: “This twentysomething Latina is pretty but unassuming, book smart and socially awkward by day. But by night, when she hears the cry of battle, her fury is ignited and she becomes a fierce warrior – so much so, that sometimes she can become a threat to others.”

Given how “Wildcat” Ted Grant has appeared in ARROW, this female character could possibly end up being Yolanda Montez, who is the goddaughter of Grant and even takes on the Wildcat moniker herself at one point. The other logical choice is possibly Helena Kosmatos, aka Fury, who has powers via Amazonian means.

As for the final new addition to this spin-off show, that role is being referred to as “Mystery Hero” and described as: “An African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.”

This role seems like it will actually be Vigil Ovid Hawkins, better known as Static.

Until there’s any official confirmation, we’ll have to wait and see just who these mystery DC characters are revealed to be. What is known is that Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller and Caity Lotz will all be regular cast members. Routh is ARROW’s Ray Palmer/Atom, Garber is THE FLASH’s Martin Stein/one half of Firestorm, Miller is THE FLASH’s Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, and Lotz is ARROW’s believed deceased Sara Lance/Canary.

Expect to hear more on this spin-off show as it develops.
