With DAREDEVIL set to debut early next year, Entertainment Weekly have managed to get hold of a couple of new images from the show, one showing Charlie Cox as the Guardian Devil, another showing the actor as plain old Matt Murdock.

Speaking to EW about the show, Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb said, “There aren’t going to be people flying through the sky; there are no magic hammers. We’ve always approached this as a crime drama first, superhero show second.”

Additionally, showrunner and executive producer Steven DeKnight confirmed that Matt Murdock will don his iconic red duds at some point in the series, with Hornhead initially patrolling Hell’s Kitchen in the black costume shown above.

The official word on DAREDEVIL reads:

Starring Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Bob Gunton (Leland Owlsely aka The Owl), Vondie Curtis Hall (Ben Urich), Toby Leonard Moore (Wesley, Wilson Fisk’s right hand man), Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Fisk), and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk), Marvel’s DAREDEVIL follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the superhero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

The Netflix-exclusive DAREDEVIL will debut in early 2015, paving the way for the AKA JESSICA JONES, LUKE CAGE, IRON FIST and THE DEFENDERS series.
