News: Trailer For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Hits

Written by Kris Heys Wednesday, 20 July 2011

Things to Come - News

Will Marc Webb's upcoming Spider-man reboot allow us to forgive Sony for their abysmal handling of the franchise in the past? Looks like it's time to find out - the first trailer has just made its internet debut...

You must have the Adobe Flash Player installed to view this player.

Like it? I'm shocked to say but I actually loved it. Very impressed with the tone, Garfield & Stone look great as Parker and Stacy, and the trailer's money shot - the epic POV of Spidey scrambling across the cityscape, is simply stunning.

Maybe they do know what they're doing after all.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN will be released July 2012.

What do you guys think? Can it improve on the Sam Raimi originals? Let us know with your comments below!

I really loved it too! I'm a bit biased, I suppose, as Spidey is my second favourite hero after Superman, but YES! It's darker and has a different feel to it than Raini's (change is good!) and Garfield and Stone look perfect for their parts too. I'm still not too struck on the costume changes -- all a bit radical IMO -- but I know I'll learn to like it in the end and I understand why they wanted to make it so different in the first place. As long as they get the origin out of the way as quickly as possible and into some web-slinging action, I'll be happy (though a bit of a good story would be nice too, of course).

Oh, and I better hear "With great power comes great responsibility" from Uncle Ben too.

Hi everyone. It looks great doesn't it? So original and a breathe of fresh air? Bollocks - check this out

and that was 3 years ago! Nice to see Sony are up to speed with what the fifteen years old gamers are into. Bless 'em!

It looks pretty blinking good - from the looks of things, it will be the first thing Sony has done right in many a year.
