Former child star Abigail Breslin (ZOMBIELAND, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE) has been cast as the lead in Vincenzo Natali’s (SPLICE) latest film entitled HAUNTER.
HAUNTER is a supernatural horror film written by Brian King (CYPHER) which is told from the viewpoint of the ghost who died along with her whole family in 1986. The spirits remain trapped in an old dusty house. The character Breslin plays has to help a girl in the present day avoid the same fate.
Natali is one of the best genre directors working today and unfortunately doesn’t seem to work enough. SPLICE is a massively underrated take on the monster movie and well worth checking out if you haven’t already. Natali was also working on an adaptation of William Gibson’s seminal NEUROMANCER but that seems to have all gone quiet recently.
Expect HAUNTER to hit sometime in 2013.
