Acclaimed filmmaker Ken Russell sadly passed away earlier yesterday after suffering a series of strokes. He was 84.

Russell is best known to genre fans for such seminal films as The Devils, Altered States and The Lair of the White Worm.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
