Movie News: Soderbergh Says Goodbye to THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

Written by Kris Heys Friday, 18 November 2011

Movie News

There's been lots of talk about Warner Bros' THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. reboot these last few weeks, all revolving around the much publicised casting troubles.

First, director Steven Soderbergh's go-to-guy George Clooney passed on the role of Napoleon Solo, then replacement Bradley Cooper dropped out, with STEP UP's Channing Tatum the latest to be touted just this week.

It's clearly taken its toll on the director, who has been developing the potential franchise for some years now, as he's finally thrown in the towel and bowed out himself.

It's not clear whether the studio will now continue with the movie, or simply give up on it altogether. But for now, this is one reboot we won't be seeing anytime soon.

Maybe they'll have more luck with THE GIRL FROM U.N.C.L.E.
